[Imsil=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Park Nosik] Imsil-gun, Jeonbuk, successfully completed the "Healing Program with Famous Personalities" held over two months from August to September at the Gwanchon-myeon Dohwa Ceramic Culture Center.

According to the county on the 7th, this project was promoted by the Imsil-gun Village Development Council after applying for the Jeollabuk-do Saengsaeng Village Plus project to promote the village and region together with famous personalities and respond to the era of rural-urban convergence and coexistence.

The famous personality is ceramic artist Lee Byung-ro, who graduated from the Department of Ceramics at Wonkwang University and the Graduate School of Industrial Arts, and completed the doctoral course in Design Craft at the Graduate School of Hongik University.

He has held 14 solo exhibitions and participated in numerous exhibitions, and has won the Presidential Award at the National Crafts Exhibition.

Recently, he received the 2021 Gyodong Art Award, and while his work as a contemporary craftsman is outstanding, he is also praised for adhering to traditional production methods and creating works that best express Korean beauty and sentiment, earning recognition as an artist faithful to basics and principles.

This program selected trainees from local residents and urban citizens interested in ceramics and proceeded with creative activities producing ceramic daily utensils, ceramic vases and flowerpots, and ceramic interior accessories.

The program was held in six sessions from August 24 to September 28.

During the participation period, the trainees' creative and diverse works will be exhibited at the Dohwa Ceramic Culture Center in the future to foster relationships between local residents and urban citizens and to create conditions to promote Imsil's cultural and artistic content.

In particular, through this program, urban citizens who were thirsty for communication and knowledge in their areas of interest had the opportunity to directly communicate and form a consensus with experts.

Furthermore, they showed very high satisfaction with the program, expressing a desire to learn more about the beautiful tourist attractions and food of Imsil.

County Governor Shim Min said, "With the expertise of famous personalities in the region, we will strive to communicate and form a consensus not only with local residents but also with urban citizens, revitalizing rural villages to become rural areas that attract people."
