[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Sehee] Choi Seo-won (formerly Choi Soon-sil) has filed a large number of lawsuits against commenters who left malicious comments on articles about her.
On the 6th, the Songpa Police Station, Suseo Police Station, and Jungnang Police Station in Seoul announced that they received the complaints from Choi at the end of last month and are currently investigating.
It is known that about 500 comments at each police station were subject to lawsuits on charges of defamation. The comments were reportedly posted between 2017 and 2018.
A police official stated, "At the end of last month, a complaint requesting investigation into about 500 comments was received," adding, "We will also review the statute of limitations and other related matters."
