[Asia Economy Reporter Sunmi Park] On the 6th, COEX announced the launch of the "COEX Advisory Committee (hereinafter referred to as the Committee)" composed of eight industry experts at COEX Studio 159 in Samseong-dong, and appointed advisory members.
The Committee will provide advice on ▲ discovering and attracting exhibitions that will create future growth engines ▲ strengthening the competitiveness of exhibitions hosted by COEX ▲ attracting and planning international conferences and corporate events ▲ discovering future new businesses. Through exhibitions of government and corporate research and development (R&D) achievements, new technologies, and new products, the Committee will suggest directions for the development of future industries to companies and the public, and advise on ways COEX can contribute to industrial development and the national economy.
The mission of COEX was redefined as Connection (C) and Experience (E), setting a new vision as "a platform company that achieves sustainable growth together with customers, partners, employees, and society."
The exhibition hall rental policy supports the expansion and globalization of exhibitions through the growth of existing exhibitions while simultaneously promoting the discovery and attraction of new promising exhibitions. To this end, an evaluation system for existing exhibitions has been introduced, and advisory members overseeing R&D in each industry participate in the selection process of new exhibitions.
Starting from the 2024 rental season, new exhibitions will be able to apply for rental at the same time as existing exhibitions, lowering the entry barriers. To provide more opportunities for new or small-scale exhibitions, a phased remodeling of the 2nd floor into an exhibition event space is underway.
Lee Dong-gi, President of COEX, stated, "With the launch of the Advisory Committee, COEX will take on a greater role in revitalizing the national economy and creating future growth engines for our country by expanding exhibition opportunities for new technologies, products, and business models."
