2022 Food and Art Festival Held in Suncheon

October 7-9, in the Jungang-ro area of Suncheon City

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seonsik] Suncheon City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Noh Gwan-gyu) announced that the 2022 Suncheon Food and Art Festival will be held for three days from Friday the 7th to Sunday the 9th along Suncheon Jungang-ro.

The 2022 Suncheon Food and Art Festival, held along Suncheonbu Eupseong South Gate Square and the section from Namgyo Five-way Intersection to Medical Center Rotary on Jungang-ro, will open the festival with a main stage theme performance and opening performance in front of Gwangju Bank, followed by an EDM party with Vibe, 4Men, Bada, and Lee Haneul, as well as various large and small performances.

On the second day of the event, the 8th, various foods including Suncheon Hansang, a traditional full-course meal of Suncheon, will be exhibited and sold, and a national food competition to discover Suncheon cuisine will be held. In addition, live commerce introducing and selling Suncheon agricultural products, a cooking class invited by star chef Oh Se-deuk using Suncheon ingredients, and a congratulatory performance by Hong Kyung-min will follow.

More than 50 food stalls and Suncheon specialty food booths will participate in this event, and about 50 art market locations in the Culture Street will exhibit and sell works related to pottery crafts, leather crafts, metal crafts, etc., as well as operate citizen experience booths.

In the Yeonja-ro section, 16 garden market booths will participate, conducting citizen experience events such as succulent art and flowerpot making.

Additionally, local food sales booths promoting and selling eco-friendly local agricultural products, small business & social enterprise product sales venues promoting and selling village and social enterprise products, and upcycling product exhibitions and making experience booths will be operated.

Under Nammun Bridge by the Okcheon Stream, a ‘Barefoot Walking (Earthing) Experience of Emptying and Filling’ will be operated, providing all visitors to the event with a mini version of the Suncheon Bay Ramsar Trail experience zone to enjoy Suncheon’s ecological environment with all five senses.

At Suncheonbu Eupseong, works made and drawn directly such as clay figure making and drawing my own garden will be exhibited throughout the event site, and movies will be screened for visitors at Suncheonbu Eupseong South Gate Square from 7 to 8 pm on the 7th and 8th.

Suncheon City plans to promote the 6th Suncheon Food and Art Festival as a safe and enjoyable festival for citizens and tourists by establishing situational promotion plans responding to changing environments such as With Corona, based on past festival experience and know-how.
