Jinju City Actively Identifies 'Welfare Blind Spot Households' Facing Employment Crisis

Jinju City Actively Identifies 'Welfare Blind Spot Households' Facing Employment Crisis Notice for Identifying Vulnerable Households in the Welfare Blind Spots.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Jinju City, Gyeongnam Province, is actively promoting activities to proactively identify households in welfare blind spots facing employment crises due to reasons such as unemployment and business closure.

Employees from the city's Welfare Policy Division and 30 customized welfare teams in eup, myeon, and dong districts are consulting with local employment office officials on tasks necessary for discovering welfare blind spots. They plan to actively promote reporting methods by distributing notices and promotional materials for identifying at-risk households.

A city official stated, "We have implemented a method of cooperating with employment offices as a new attempt to find vulnerable groups in welfare blind spots. Taking this new approach as an opportunity, we will intensively seek out vulnerable groups throughout Jinju City."

Since early this year, Jinju City has intensively identified urgent support targets affected by COVID-19, such as those on leave or who have closed their businesses, daily workers who lost their jobs, and those delinquent on health insurance premiums, through four rounds of focused efforts.

Through this, investigations were completed for a total of 3,185 people, and welfare services were provided to 2,779 people in need of assistance.

From October 6 to 31, the city is operating a focused identification period and is making every effort to eliminate welfare blind spots.
