[Asia Economy Reporter Changhwan Lee] DB Insurance announced on the 6th that it has revised and relaunched its driver insurance to commemorate its 60th anniversary.
In the existing product, the 'lawyer appointment cost' was only covered in cases where detention or prosecution by the prosecutor occurred, and when a trial proceeded after a summary indictment.
However, with this revision, costs for hiring a lawyer are now covered even at the summary indictment or non-prosecution stage, as well as during police investigations (non-prosecution).
The coverage amount also provides up to 50 million KRW for third-party death and serious traffic law violation accidents.
The 'Traffic Accident Handling Support Fund' coverage has introduced an advance payment system for deposit funds in line with the amendment to the Deposit Act, which will take effect in December.
Currently, when a traffic accident occurs and a deposit is made, the insurance payment is only possible after the victim submits a 'Certificate of Deposit Payment.' However, with this advance payment system, up to 50% can be paid in advance from the time the deposit application is made.
New coverage has also been developed for injury treatment costs and vehicle damage consolation fees related to falling object accidents and wild animal roadkill accidents, which have recently become issues due to incidents such as leaf springs.
DB Insurance also announced that it has recently entered into a business partnership with Han Moon-cheol TV (led by Attorney Han Moon-cheol) for joint marketing of driver insurance.
Through this partnership, both companies plan to combine their professional capabilities to develop new coverage that enhances customer value and to conduct joint marketing.
A DB Insurance official stated, "With this revision of the driver insurance product, we have secured the industry's best product competitiveness, and we will continue to develop new coverage that brings us closer to our customers."
