[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] The director of a hospital in Gwangju who habitually sexually harassed employees has been referred to the prosecution.
On the 5th, the Dongbu Police Station in Gwangju announced that Mr. A was sent to the prosecution on charges of sexual harassment using power in the course of work.
Mr. A is accused of pinching or touching parts of employee B's body at the hospital since last February.
B stated, "He raised his pinky finger and said, 'You be my (lover),' and when he changed into shorts before leaving work, he also said things like, 'Did you wear shorts to seduce me?'"
B claimed that the harassment continued for two months until April, when she was suddenly dismissed.
After receiving sudden dismissal notice, B reported the hospital director to the Gwangju Regional Labor Office for unfair dismissal, workplace sexual harassment, and failure to prepare a labor contract, and also filed a complaint with the police for sexual harassment.
The Labor Office reportedly recognized the hospital director's unfair labor practices, including workplace sexual harassment, and imposed penalties such as fines.
