[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Daejeon City is set to promote the activation of live commerce for small business owners.
On the 5th, the city announced that it will recruit 40 local companies to participate in the 'Small Business Owner Live Commerce Activation Support Project.'
The project is being promoted to provide small business owners, who have suffered due to lack of preparation amid the rapidly changing non-face-to-face consumption distribution environment, with opportunities to develop new sales channels and strengthen competitiveness.
Applicants must be small business owners with business locations in Daejeon as of the recruitment announcement date, possessing products that can be sold online, such as food, processed food, industrial products, and other services.
The city plans to select the final participating companies based on a combined quantitative and qualitative evaluation according to its own evaluation criteria, choosing those who score 60 points or higher from the selection committee, in order of highest scores.
Participating companies will receive comprehensive support necessary for live commerce, including production of detailed pages and introductory videos required for real-time broadcast sales, product promotion concepts and on-site filming direction, and professional show host management.
Applications can be submitted by visiting the Live Commerce Operations Headquarters in person or by email by the 25th of this month, along with the application form, execution plan, consent form for use and provision of personal information, confidentiality agreement, business registration certificate, certificates of full payment of national and local taxes, and small business owner verification.
For more detailed information about the application, please refer to the city’s website or the Daejeon Job and Economy Promotion Agency website.
Yu Cheol, head of the Small Business Policy Division of the city, said, "The city is currently building the ‘Ondongne Live Commerce’ platform to activate live commerce for small business owners," adding, "Once the platform is completed, a wide range of products, from general goods to service products, will be able to be sold through live commerce."
