The World's Fastest CPU... Intel Launches 13th Generation Intel Core

Over 1 Million 12th Gen Intel Core Unlocked Processors Shipped
New Products Scheduled for Full Sales Starting Mid-November

The World's Fastest CPU... Intel Launches 13th Generation Intel Core Lee Juseok, Vice President of Intel Korea, is greeting at the briefing held on the 5th at the Federation of Korean Industries building in Yeouido, Seoul.

[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-seon] "The fastest central processing unit (CPU) in the world."

On the 5th, Lee Ju-seok, Vice President of Intel Korea, introduced the new product '13th Generation Intel Core Processor' at a briefing held at the Federation of Korean Industries building in Yeouido, Seoul. Vice President Lee said, "We shipped more than one million 12th Generation Intel Core unlocked processors by the end of last year," adding, "Intel has once again raised the PC performance standard with the 13th Generation Intel Core processors."

On the same day, Intel unveiled the 13th Generation Intel Core processor lineup and announced the market launch of the 13th Generation Intel Core i9-13900K. Various products are planned to be actively sold starting mid-next month. The 13th Generation lineup offers faster and more efficient performance than its predecessor by utilizing the 3rd Generation SuperFin process and x86 hybrid architecture. The hybrid architecture, first applied in the 12th Generation Core processors, is also applied in the 13th Generation. This hybrid architecture combines performance cores that focus on high-computation tasks and efficiency cores specialized for low-power and light tasks, providing Intel processors' unique operation method that delivers both high performance and high efficiency simultaneously.

The 13th Generation CPU product, Core i9-13900K, is the latest processor. It will be released for servers, laptops, and desktop PCs. The Core i9-13900K operates with performance cores running up to 5.8GHz, which is 600MHz faster than the previous generation, and the efficiency cores' performance and cache memory capacity have also increased. Compared to the previous generation, single-threaded (a series of tasks to process one message) performance has improved by up to 15%, and multi-threaded performance has increased by up to 41%.

Intel explained that the 13th Generation Intel Core processors provide the best environment when used with the Intel 700 series chipset. The 700 series chipset, as well as the existing 600 series, are compatible, allowing the use of motherboards designed for the 12th Generation processors. The Intel 700 series chipset offers a total of 28 lanes and supports USB 3.2 at speeds up to 20Gbps.

Choi Won-seok, Executive Director, who presented the product on the day, said, "The 13th Generation Intel Core processors elevate Intel's hybrid architecture to the next level, offering the best PC experience. We will introduce a variety of products that meet consumers' desired performance and price ranges, including released desktop and laptop products and a 6GHz limited edition processor, in collaboration with PC ecosystem partners."

Intel continues various efforts to achieve the success provided by the 13th Generation Intel Core processors. Based on hundreds of engineers belonging to teams responsible for numerous technology fields worldwide, Intel collaborates with experts in various areas such as CPU microarchitecture, memory controllers and reference code, and software.
