[Asia Economy Reporter Donghyun Choi] Lifelong education specialist company Hunet announced on the 5th that it has established the HUNET Global Leadership Institute and appointed Professor Ki-bok Baek, Professor Emeritus at Kookmin University, as the inaugural director.
The Hunet Global Leadership Institute plans to create comprehensive solutions across all areas of leadership through domestic and international leadership research, including ▲ leadership model development ▲ leadership diagnosis and course development ▲ leadership-specialized consulting. Additionally, to nurture the next generation of leaders, Hunet will open the Hunet Leadership College to develop it into a leadership-specialized educational institution, with the long-term goal of establishing a graduate school of leadership.
CEO Youngtak Cho stated, “There are many respected leaders in Korea, but it was unfortunate that there was no research or specialized educational programs on this. Together with Professor Ki-bok Baek, a guru in the domestic leadership field, we will lay the foundation for leadership education and strive for the globalization of Korean-style leadership.”
Professor Ki-bok Baek, who serves as the inaugural director, is recognized as an authority in the domestic leadership field. Over more than 40 years of leadership research, he developed theories such as issue leadership and Korean-style leadership. He has held positions such as researcher at POSCO Management Research Institute, adjunct professor at POSTECH, president of the Korean Academy of Business Ethics, president of the Leadership Society, and president of the Human Resources and Organization Society. He recently served as a professor at Kookmin University. He has published numerous books including Leadership Review, Korean-style Leadership, Organizational Behavior Research, New Management Studies, and Bitsori.
