Sejong Chungnam National University Hospital and Hana Bank Crystal Square Awarded Excellent Green Building Certification

[Asia Economy Reporter Minyoung Kim] The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced on the 5th that Sejong Chungnam National University Hospital and others will receive awards at the '2022 Korea Green Building Awards,' which selects outstanding green buildings.

Sejong Chungnam National University Hospital, which received the Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Award, is an eco-friendly building with a Building Energy Efficiency Grade 1+ rating. It was highly evaluated for actively utilizing the surrounding green spaces from the design stage. Despite being a hospital facility with relatively high energy consumption, it improved energy efficiency by adopting green building technologies such as the Building Energy Management System (BEMS).

Hana Bank's 'Crystal Square' was selected for the Minister of Environment Award. As a private building not subject to mandatory green building certification, it unusually received a Building Energy Efficiency Grade 1++ and the highest grade in green building certification.

Seoul Energy Dream Center and Korea Environmental Industry & Technology Institute will receive the Minister's Award in the green building operation category. The awards ceremony will be held on the 13th.
