Gyeonggi-do Conducts Fact-Finding Survey on All Households' Resident Registration... Introduces Non-Face-to-Face Survey

[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Gyeonggi Province will conduct the "2022 Resident Registration Fact-Finding Survey" from the 6th of this month until December 28.

The Resident Registration Fact-Finding Survey is conducted to align the actual residence of residents with their registered address, and it is carried out annually in accordance with the Resident Registration Act.

This year's key survey targets include ▲ households suspected of having deceased members ▲ households with long-term absentees and preschool children of school age ▲ households vulnerable to welfare (high-risk groups among the central welfare crisis households identified by the Ministry of Health and Welfare).

For the key survey target households, an enhanced resident registration fact-finding survey will be conducted, primarily through in-person visits.

Joint survey teams composed of public officials and community leaders from each city, county, town, township, and neighborhood will conduct telephone or in-person surveys, and will take administrative actions to address false registrations and unauthorized moves.

Starting with this survey, a non-face-to-face digital fact-finding method will be newly introduced.

Survey subjects will access the non-face-to-face survey system by logging in with government24 (mobile) identity verification from their registered address and respond to the fact-finding items. Even if they participate in the non-face-to-face digital survey, telephone surveys will be conducted as a supplementary measure.

To assist residents who hesitate to report due to concerns about fines for delayed reporting, a voluntary reporting reduction system will be operated. If incorrect resident registration details are reported truthfully to the town, township, or neighborhood community service center during the resident registration fact-finding survey period, fines will be reduced by half, up to three-quarters.

Yoo Tae-il, Director of the Provincial Autonomous Administration Bureau, requested, "Since the resident registration fact-finding survey is a survey aimed at accurately establishing resident registration statistics, which form the foundation for provincial policy-making and contribute to the welfare of Gyeonggi residents, please actively cooperate when surveyors visit."
