8 Rescued Through Helicopter Search Operation
[Asia Economy Reporter Kwon Hyun-ji] On the 4th (local time), a large avalanche occurred in the northern Himalayan mountain region of India, resulting in 10 deaths and 11 missing persons, according to Indian media including PTI news agency.
According to reports, on that morning, 29 mountain trainees encountered an avalanche at an altitude of 4,870 meters on 'Draupadi Ka Danda 2' mountain in the Himalayas of northern Uttarakhand. Among them, 8 were rescued through a local air force helicopter search operation, but 10 were reported dead and 11 remain missing.
The injured were transported to the capital, Dehradun. It is known that no foreigners were among them.
