Domestic 56,910 Units, Overseas 298,130 Units
[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] Hyundai Motor Company announced on the 4th that it sold a total of 355,040 vehicles worldwide last month, including 56,910 units domestically and 298,130 units overseas. Compared to the same period last year, domestic sales increased by 29.8%, and overseas sales increased by 23.4%.
First, in domestic sales, Hyundai sold 56,910 units, a 29.8% increase compared to the same month last year. Sedans sold a total of 16,334 units, including 4,643 units of Grandeur, 2,652 units of Ioniq 6, 4,585 units of Sonata, and 4,454 units of Avante.
For RVs, a total of 17,059 units were sold, including 3,464 units of Palisade, 2,327 units of Santa Fe, 2,396 units of Ioniq 5, 2,452 units of Tucson, and 4,032 units of Casper.
Porter recorded sales of 8,503 units, Staria sold 2,814 units, and medium and large buses and trucks sold 2,554 units.
Genesis sold a total of 9,646 units, including 2,217 units of G90, 2,863 units of G80, 1,527 units of GV80, 2,348 units of GV70, and 332 units of GV60.
Overseas sales in September increased by 23.4% year-on-year to 298,130 units.
A Hyundai Motor official stated, “The difficult business environment continues due to the resurgence of COVID-19, semiconductor parts supply disruptions, expanding inflation, and economic recession,” adding, “We will expand market share and strengthen profitability through competitive new car launches such as the Ioniq 6, which has started full-scale sales, and the new Grandeur at the end of this year, as well as production and sales optimization strategies.”
