Limited Sale of 80,000 Boxes Only
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chunhan] Lotte Super announced on the 4th that it will conduct a limited pre-order of 1,700 tons (80,000 boxes) of salted napa cabbage from the 5th to the 11th.
This year's pre-order quantity has been expanded by about 30% compared to last year. The representative product is salted napa cabbage available for pre-order in 20kg box units. Customers can purchase salted napa cabbage from Haenam, grown in loess soil, known as the top production area for kimchi napa cabbage; crispy Pyeongchang salted napa cabbage grown at an altitude of 700m in highland areas; and savory Goesan salted napa cabbage grown at an altitude of 400m in mid-highland areas, all at about half the market price. Pre-ordered products can be picked up at the store on the designated date between December 4th and December 17th.
A convenient kimchi-making kit for 1-2 person households will also be offered. The kit includes 7kg of salted napa cabbage and 2kg of Jeolla-do style kimchi seasoning, sold at a discounted price when paid with event cards. Jeolla-do style kimchi seasoning, altari kimchi, and gat kimchi are also available for purchase.
These pre-order salted napa cabbage products are hygienically produced in 100% HACCP-certified facilities. Additionally, Lotte Super’s vegetable merchandisers (MDs) continuously visit production areas from the sowing period in August to the harvest period in November to ensure the selection of safe and high-quality napa cabbage.
A Lotte Super official said, “Since this year’s napa cabbage crop is unstable, we have prepared good quality salted napa cabbage at affordable prices with extra care,” adding, “We are preparing more various kimchi vegetable discount events so that customers can prepare for kimjang without worrying about prices.”
