[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jun-yi] The government and the ruling party announced on the 3rd their intention to begin discussions on government reorganization at the High-Level Party-Government Council meeting.

Jin-seok Jeong, Emergency Response Committee Chairman of the People Power Party, stated at the 5th High-Level Party-Government Council held at the Prime Minister's residence in Samcheong-dong that afternoon, "It is time to start discussions on government reorganization to effectively support the national goals pursued by the Yoon Seok-yeol administration, such as warm companionship, a society where everyone is happy, and becoming a global pivotal country contributing to freedom, peace, and prosperity."

He explained, "Since the establishment of the government in 1948, the government organization has been reorganized more than 50 times. Although frequent reorganization may undermine the stability of government organizations, timely reorganization to secure national momentum and revive the economy should be encouraged. From a long-term perspective, we must devote ourselves to creating an efficient government through calm and in-depth discussions about the nation's future."

Prime Minister Han Deok-su also said, "At today's High-Level Party-Government Council, we will discuss the direction of government reorganization to systematically promote the Yoon administration's national agenda," adding, "Starting with today's discussions, I hope the government organization will be reorganized efficiently and systematically to contribute to the success of the Yoon administration."

They also announced plans to discuss 'alleviating the late-night taxi shortage.' Chairman Jeong emphasized, "The inconvenience caused to the public by the late-night taxi shortage is considerable. Taxi drivers are citizens, and passengers and customers who take taxis are also citizens. We must devise solutions acceptable to the public and find the optimal measures to improve the revenue structure of the taxi industry."

Prime Minister Han also said, "There has been a limitation in flexibly responding to market fluctuations regarding the taxi shortage. Going forward, the government will focus on the people, reform unreasonable regulations, and do its best to stabilize people's livelihoods."
