[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jun-yi] Former President Moon Jae-in reportedly expressed displeasure, calling the Board of Audit and Inspection's written investigation notice "extremely rude." The Secretariat conveyed its intention to refuse to accept the Board of Audit and Inspection's investigation request.

Yoon Gun-young, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea and former Blue House official, held a press conference at the National Assembly Communication Office on the 3rd and stated, "On the 30th of last month, I reported to President Moon regarding the Board of Audit and Inspection's written investigation."

When asked if former President Moon made the statement himself, he replied, "Yes."

He added, "On the 28th of last month, the Board of Audit and Inspection called the Pyeongsan Village Secretariat to request a written investigation," and said, "The Secretariat requested precise clarification on what the Board of Audit and Inspection intended to investigate and expressed its refusal to accept the questionnaire."

Along with this, he said, "We returned the email to the Board of Audit and Inspection," adding, "It contained the message that it was appropriate to refuse since it was something beyond the Board's authority."

Yoon further stated, "I believe this investigation was approved by the head of the Board of Audit and Inspection," and added, "The head of the Board abandoned political neutrality and acted as if he were a servant of power; the truth must be clearly revealed, and if there are any behind-the-scenes forces, they must be identified."

On the same day, the Board of Audit and Inspection released 'Reference Materials Regarding the Written Investigation of the Former President' and said, "In accordance with the Board of Audit and Inspection Act, a questionnaire was prepared for former President Moon and approved by the head of the Board on the 28th of last month," adding, "The Board may issue a questionnaire in the name of the head of the Board to a former president if necessary to uncover substantive truth during the audit process."

They also explained, "It was necessary to verify facts related to the ongoing investigation of the West Sea civil servant killing incident."
