[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Juri] A fire broke out on the 4th floor of an eight-unit, four-story multi-family house in Gwangmyeong-si, Gyeonggi-do, where a resident reportedly rescued five neighbors.

According to the fire authorities on the 2nd, the fire occurred around 6:12 a.m. on the top floor of the four-story multi-family house in Gwangmyeong-dong, Gwangmyeong-si.

The fire department, which responded after receiving the report, worked to extinguish the fire and succeeded in putting it out around 6:39 a.m.

During this process, Mr. A, who lives in the multi-family house, became a topic of conversation for safely evacuating five residents on the 4th floor using his moving ladder truck before the fire department arrived.

Thanks to Mr. A's prompt action, greater casualties were prevented.

Meanwhile, two residents on the 4th floor sustained minor injuries, including second-degree burns on their shoulders. Eighteen residents safely evacuated without injury. The other 18 residents living on different floors evacuated on their own.

The fire authorities are currently investigating the exact cause of the fire and the extent of property damage.
