Seoul City to Host 'Magok Industrial Complex' Festival with Companies on June 6-7

Seoul City to Host 'Magok Industrial Complex' Festival with Companies on June 6-7


[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] Seoul City announced on the 3rd that the ‘Magok M-Tech Week’ will be held from the 6th to the 7th at Magok Industrial Complex, an R&D-centered industrial complex. This festival for companies, workers, and local residents in the Magok Industrial Complex area is the first attempt this year.


Located in Magok-dong, the Magok Industrial Complex is an R&D-centered industrial complex where 200 excellent domestic and international companies in advanced technology fields such as electronics, genetic engineering, bio, and energy have confirmed their move-in. Currently, 123 companies including LG, Lotte, Kolon, and S-Oil have completed or are in the process of moving in.


The main programs of the ‘Magok Industrial Complex Festival’ consist of programs for resident companies and related organizations in the Magok Industrial Complex. As a corporate support event, the ‘Global Tech Connect R&D Seminar,’ where global technology development (R&D) innovation methods and cases are shared and overseas technology cooperation opportunities can be found, and the ‘Foreign Talent Recruitment Fair’ involving 12 Magok resident companies will be held at Seoul Startup Hub M Plus (M?).


Experiential and cultural events that Magok Industrial Complex entrepreneurs, workers, and local residents can enjoy will also be operated. Around the street performance stage in front of Space K (art museum), the Seoul Street Performance Group’s ‘Guseok Guseok Live’ performance and exhibition and experience booths of Magok Industrial Complex resident companies will be held, along with diverse citizen participation events such as caricature drawing and Magok landmarks stamp tour.


As a linked program of ‘Magok M-Tech Week,’ Seoul Botanic Park’s ‘Healing Flower Outing’ and LG Consortium’s ‘LG Science Park Culture Week’ will be held, adding variety to the event. Seoul Botanic Park’s ‘Healing Flower Outing’ includes a 60-minute explanation of flowers and fruits blooming in October. Jung Young-jun, Seoul City’s New Industry Policy Officer, said, "I hope that the various events through ‘Magok M-Tech Week’ will contribute to the technological growth and workforce acquisition of companies in the Magok Industrial Complex and provide an opportunity for workers and local residents in the Magok Industrial Complex to recharge together.”
