Yoo So-yeon Ascendant LPGA 3R Steady at 3 Under Par

[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Hee-jun] Yoo So-yeon (32) aims for her first win of the season on the U.S. Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) Tour.
On the 1st (local time), Yoo So-yeon shot a 3-under-par 68 in the third round of the Ascendant LPGA Benefiting Volunteers of America (total prize money $1.7 million) held at Old American Golf Club (par 71, 6,475 yards) in Colleyville, Texas, USA. She made five birdies and two bogeys, sharing 6th place (8-under-par 205) with Moriya Jutanugarn and Atthaya Thitikul (both from Thailand).
After consecutive birdies on holes 1 and 2, Yoo So-yeon took a brief breather with a bogey on the 8th hole (par 4), then made another birdie on the 10th hole (par 4). She exchanged a birdie and a bogey on holes 13 and 14, and finished the round with a birdie on the 15th hole (par 4).
Yoo So-yeon improved her position by three spots compared to the previous day. She is only three strokes behind the co-leaders Lin Xiyu (China) and Charley Hull (England), who are tied at 11-under-par 202.
Yoo So-yeon said, "My tee shots were not good, but my putting was decent," adding, "I hope both will work harmoniously in the final round."
Lydia Ko (New Zealand), the 'Hyundai family’s prospective daughter-in-law,' who has one win this season, is tied for 3rd place (10-under-par 203) with C?line Boutier (France). Kim A-lim (27) moved up to a tie for 9th place (7-under-par 206) after shooting four under, and An Na-rin (26) is tied for 13th place (6-under-par 207).
