[Asia Economy Reporter No Woo-rae] It is the opportunity for Seo Yo-seop (26), the 'number one winner,' to claim his third victory of the season.
On the 1st, at the Ferrum Club Dongseo Course (par 72, 7,232 yards) in Yeoju, Gyeonggi Province, Seo Yo-seop recorded 3-under par over 15 holes on the third day of the KPGA Korean Tour Hyundai Marine & Fire Insurance Choi Kyung-ju Invitational (total prize money 1.25 billion KRW), taking the top spot on the leaderboard at 8-under par. Kang Kyung-nam (39) and Kim Dong-min (24) share the lead, while Lee Tae-hoon (Canada), Heo In-hoe (35), Han Seung-soo (USA), Lee Dong-min (37), and Lee Sung-ho (35) are tied for fourth place, one stroke behind at 7-under par.
Seo Yo-seop combined five birdies with one double bogey. He started smoothly with birdies on holes 2 and 6 but lost all the strokes he had gained after a double bogey on the 8th hole (par 3). Afterwards, he made consecutive birdies on holes 11 and 12 and another birdie on the 15th hole (par 4) but was unable to finish the round due to sunset. Seo Yo-seop secured two wins earlier this season at the Bodyfriend Phantom Robo Gunsan CC Open in August and the LX Championship in September. Leading by one stroke, he is poised for his third win of the season and sixth career victory.
Kang Kyung-nam joined the title race by collecting five birdies and one bogey. Heo In-hoe also lowered his score by four strokes, eyeing a chance to overtake the lead. Moon Kyung-jun (40), Lee Hyung-jun (30), Jung Han-mil (31), and Jang Hee-min (20) are tied for ninth place, two strokes behind at 6-under par. Last week's DGB Financial Group Open winner Moon Do-yeop (31) reduced his score by one stroke over 17 holes and is tied for 13th place at 5-under par. Due to sunset, 28 players were unable to complete their third round.
