On that day, A'ja Wilson led the U.S. team with 19 points and 5 rebounds, while Kelsey Plum contributed 17 points and 3 assists.
For China, Li Weiwei recorded a double-double with 19 points and 12 rebounds. Although China lost the match, they reached the Women's Basketball World Cup final for the first time in 28 years since their runner-up finish in 1994.
The tournament MVP was awarded to Wilson of the United States. The Best Five included Wilson, Breanna Stewart (USA), Han Xu (China), Bridget Carleton (Canada), and Stephanie Talbot (Australia).

Korea was eliminated in the group stage of this tournament with 1 win and 4 losses. They secured their first win in the finals in 12 years since the 2010 Czech Republic tournament. Korea finished 10th among the 12 participating countries.
