Strengthening Job Competencies and Creating a Platform for Communication
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Gwiyeol] Gyeongbuk Province held the ‘Gyeongbuk Broadcasting and Telecommunications Public Officials Workshop’ over two days from the 29th to the 30th at Gumi Geumosan Hotel, with the participation of more than 50 public officials in charge of broadcasting and telecommunications from the province and city/counties.
This workshop was conducted for public officials responsible for broadcasting and telecommunications in local governments within Gyeongbuk Province to explore the latest trends in information and communication new technologies and practical measures for the development of local government information and communication.
Starting with a special lecture on 5G 3GPP standard status and understanding international trends, technical lectures on public cloud technology and service models, which are being introduced one after another in the domestic public environment, and the activation of cloud technology were held.
Many participants showed great interest by asking questions about the development direction with the 4th industrial revolution, the role of local governments, and specific successful cases.
In addition, various side events such as lectures on training methodologies for healthy job performance, awards for contributors to information and communication development, and discussions on various regional broadcasting and telecommunications issues were also held.
Regarding current issues that can directly benefit local residents, such as public Wi-Fi projects and the advancement of rural communication networks, many questions were raised to consider the direction of local informatization development together.
Hong Seong-gu, Director of the Autonomous Administration Bureau of Gyeongbuk Province, said, “I hope that through beneficial lectures and various programs, the job competency of Gyeongbuk broadcasting and telecommunications can be further strengthened,” and added, “I hope that the professional lectures at the workshop and the passion of the participating public officials will serve as an opportunity to generate many policies and ideas that can contribute to the development of provincial administration in the future.”
