Asia Content & Film Market Held Normally After 3 Years
The Asia Content & Film Market (ACFM) will be held normally for the first time in three years. It is a comprehensive content market where original intellectual properties (IPs) such as films, videos, books, webtoons, web novels, and stories are bought and sold during the Busan International Film Festival. From the 8th to the 11th, various booths, investment and co-production markets, film production support programs, and industry conferences will be set up at BEXCO Exhibition Hall 2 in Busan.
This year, various events will be held in line with the offline face-to-face format. The organizers place high expectations on the Busan Story Market, comparable to the film and video sales market. It is a venue to introduce original IPs such as novels, webtoons, and web novels created in Asia to domestic and international industry stakeholders. Meetings and pitchings of officially selected works will take place at sales booths and other venues.
The market conference format has changed significantly. Last year, leading figures in the K-content industry were invited to provide an overview of the entire industry. This year, pitching opportunities will be expanded, and numerous events looking into the future of film and related industries will be held. Topics include 'French IP Remakes,' 'The Meaning and Development Direction of K-Story,' and 'Legal Issues Regarding Contracts for Using Different Originals in Film Production.'
The main program, the 'BSM Forum,' will feature participants such as Lee Gi-o, Netflix Content Series Director, and Jung Seo-kyung, screenwriter of the film Decision to Leave, exploring the meaning of K-Story and global expansion strategies. In 'Cross-border and Cross-genre Collaboration of Korean and Japanese IP Companies,' representatives from CJ ENM and Toei Animation will share actual industry collaboration cases on IP video adaptations.
Technical seminars include 'Busan Film Shooting Studio-XR Tech Lab' and 'The Future of the Film Industry Innovated by AI Voice.' The former discusses changes in video production technology paradigms and the direction of production environments. The latter is a session to review AI voice production cases that can be utilized in video content creation. Sound technology company Supertone will demonstrate voice creation, gender transformation, dialogue replacement, and expansion of acting domains.
