[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] The signing ceremony for the ‘2023?2024 U-15 National Youth Baseball Tournament,’ jointly hosted by Busan Gijang-gun and the Korea Baseball Softball Association, was held on the 30th at Gijang-Hyundai Dream Ball Park.


The signing ceremony was arranged to ensure the successful operation and enhance mutual cooperation for the ‘U-15 National Youth Baseball Tournament’ to be held in Gijang-gun for two years starting next year. Attendees included Jeong Jong-bok, the head of Gijang-gun, and Yang Hae-young, vice president of the Korea Baseball Softball Association, among other officials.


Through this agreement, the two organizations promised to actively cooperate on matters such as tournament preparation, game management, and administrative support.


On the same day, the ‘2022 U-15 National Youth Baseball Tournament’ successfully concluded.


The tournament, held from the 20th to the 30th at Gijang-Hyundai Dream Ball Park and Jangancheon Baseball Stadium, was the largest nationwide event with a total of 129 teams participating, delivering intense and thrilling matches.


The tournament was operated in three leagues named after Gijang-gun’s local designations: Osiria, Haepalanggil, and Ahopsan Forest, with champions determined for each league. It became a stage of competition united by the passionate spirit of Korea’s baseball hopefuls.


Jeong Jong-bok, head of the county, said, “I am pleased that the national youth baseball tournament has successfully concluded,” and added, “We will make every effort to prepare the 2023?2024 U-15 National Youth Baseball Tournament so that the players’ efforts can shine.”
