Allegations of Violating the Stalking Punishment Act
[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Gyumin] The police have referred a woman in her 40s to the prosecution on charges of repeatedly ringing the doorbell at the home of singer and actor Bi (Jung Jihoon) and his wife Kim Taehee.
On the 30th, the Yongsan Police Station in Seoul announced that on the 22nd, they had sent the case of A (47), who is accused of violating the Stalking Punishment Act, to the Seoul Western District Prosecutors' Office.
A is accused of visiting the residence of the Bi couple located in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, and ringing the doorbell repeatedly since March of last year.
The police had issued three warnings to A, including fines of up to 100,000 won, for violating the Minor Offenses Act until October last year, before the Stalking Punishment Act was enforced. Nevertheless, when A visited the Bi couple's residence again in February, the police arrested her.
A prosecution official stated, "The case was initially forwarded to the prosecution without indictment, but we thought additional investigation was necessary, and the case was subsequently sent."
