[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Su-yeon] LG Uplus announced on the 30th that it has signed a business agreement with SBS Plus for joint production and business partnership of intellectual property (IP) content, and will co-produce the parenting entertainment show "Our Child Has Changed Returns (UaDal Returns)".
The business agreement ceremony held at the Idulnara headquarters in Gangnam-gu, Seoul was attended by key executives from both companies, including Park Jong-wook, LG Uplus Idulnara CO (Executive Director), Moon Hyun-il, LG Uplus Idulnara Business Manager, Lee Chang-tae, SBS Plus CEO, and Kang Myung-guk, SBS Plus Director.
Through this partnership, the two companies will jointly produce the parenting entertainment show UaDal Returns. UaDal Returns is a sequel to the original parenting entertainment program "UaDal," which aired for 10 years from 2006 to 2015 and recorded a peak viewership rating of 12.1%. The original production team who first planned and produced UaDal is reuniting after 7 years since the show ended to prepare for production.
In particular, UaDal Returns will utilize U+ Idulnara's "Child-Parent Diagnostic Service" to understand children's tendencies, and parenting experts will provide customized parenting solutions based on these tendencies. The "Child-Parent Diagnostic Service" diagnoses a child's temperament, multifaceted traits, cognitive development, 6C (future talent competencies), and the parent's achievement, consistency, support, and control, offering parenting tips tailored to the tendencies of both child and parent.
UaDal Returns, set to premiere on October 10, can be viewed on the SBS Plus channel (U+tv channel 33) and LG Uplus's IPTV and mobile platform for children, the media platform "U+ Idulnara".
LG Uplus is promoting a business transformation to U+3.0 "4 Major Platforms," which includes three new businesses: lifestyle, play, and growth care, along with future technologies. LG Uplus explained that this collaboration with SBS Plus is part of strengthening the competitiveness of the growth care platform, U+ Idulnara.
Park Jong-wook, LG Uplus Idulnara CO (Executive Director), said, "We are pleased to participate in the production of the original parenting entertainment show 'UaDal Returns,' which was enjoyed by the entire nation, in partnership with SBS Plus," adding, "We will continue to strengthen content cooperation so that parents and children can grow properly together and expand our presence in the kids market."
Lee Chang-tae, CEO of SBS Plus, said, "We are delighted to collaborate with LG Uplus. SBS Plus, with its know-how in producing various entertainment programs, has joined forces with LG Uplus, which has solid technology and a variety of characters," adding, "We are excited about this partnership and the synergy it will create. We believe it will bring a new breeze to the market. We will do our best to ensure this beginning bears great fruit."
