Caribbean Resort Transformation, Everland Opens 'Mar Caribe 2.0'

[Asia Economy, Cho Yong-jun, Travel Specialist Reporter] With the arrival of autumn, Everland Waterpark Caribbean Bay's premium beach cafe, Mar Caribe, has returned upgraded as Season 2.

Samsung C&T Resort Division (President Han Seung-hwan) announced that it will reopen Mar Caribe, the beach cafe that gained great popularity last spring while Caribbean Bay's water play facilities were not in operation.

Mar Caribe, meaning Caribbean Sea in Spanish, is a sub-character first introduced by Caribbean Bay this year. Visitors can enter Caribbean Bay without an additional fee and fully enjoy the exotic atmosphere of the beach cafe.

Mar Caribe 2.0, themed around the Caribbean autumn festival, has been reborn with a more spacious and well-organized layout connecting the beach cafe, village, and plaza.

The experience zones have expanded not only around the outdoor wave pool (beach cafe), which was the main stage, but also to the Harbor Master (village) and Adventure Pool (plaza) areas, increasing the free-use area for visitors by about 30% or more.

Inspired by the autumn festivals of Caribbean coastal countries like Mexico, the overall theme atmosphere has been newly transformed. The outdoor wave pool, featuring a giant full moon sculpture about 10 meters in diameter, palm trees, hammocks, and a beach bar, now includes colorful pumpkin decorations, garlands, and marigold flower ornaments to enhance the exotic beach vibe.

Especially in Mar Caribe 2.0, the expanded Harbor Master and Adventure Pool areas showcase vividly colored and elaborately patterned unique facades, evoking the lively atmosphere of Mexico's autumn festivals.

The variety of attractions to enjoy at Caribbean Bay Mar Caribe 2.0, including food, goods, and performances, has also become richer. Compared to the spring season, the number of restaurants and snack shops has doubled, offering over 120 special menu items.

At the beachside bar located by the wave pool, visitors can taste various cocktails such as Caribe Mojito and Caribe Eve, as well as beer and beverages. At Harbor Master, Mexican specialty dishes like Habanero Red Bull Pasta and Chipotle Beef Roll are served.

Additionally, special booths from food and beverage brands like Paul Bassett, Oochu, and Ant & Sprezel have opened, selling a variety of menus including coffee, ice cream, churros, and pretzels.

Mar Caribe has gained popularity as a healing hot spot among customers through word of mouth, significantly contributing to Caribbean Bay's visitor numbers recovering to pre-COVID-19 levels this summer.

An Everland official stated, "Last spring, 70,000 people visited over 40 days, causing an open-run phenomenon (rushing to enter as soon as the store opens). This autumn, we have enhanced customer convenience, content, and interesting elements such as gift giveaways."
