Woori Bank Palm Vein Registration for Identity Verification, Domestic Flight Check-in Available

Woori Bank Launches 'Biometric Authentication Airport Linked Service'

[Asia Economy Reporter Sim Nayoung] Woori Bank (President Lee Won-duk) announced on the 30th that it will implement a "biometric authentication airport linkage service" that allows verification of identity and domestic flight check-in using only biometric information (palm vein) without an ID card.

This service can be used for domestic flight check-in at 14 domestic airports, and customers can register their palm vein information and apply for the service at Woori Bank branches and digital desks (video counters). Customers who have already registered their palm vein information with Woori Bank can use the service by applying for the "airport linkage service" at a branch.

This service is promoted through a partnership between Woori Bank, nine other financial institutions, Korea Airports Corporation, and the Korea Financial Telecommunications & Clearings Institute to enhance the convenience of airport customers during flight check-in.

Currently, when customers register their palm vein information, Woori Bank provides financial services using it for ▲ATM deposits and withdrawals ▲identity verification at smart kiosks, digital desks, and safe deposit boxes. In the future, the bank plans to expand the scope of services utilizing biometric information across various fields.
