Suwon City to Host 'Social Economy Enterprise Open Market'... September 30 to October 7

[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Suwon City in Gyeonggi Province will hold an open market selling products from local social economy enterprises. Social economy enterprises are corporations or organizations established and operated to realize social values, including social enterprises, cooperatives, village enterprises, and self-support enterprises. In Suwon City, about 500 social economy enterprises such as (preliminary) social enterprises, cooperatives, self-support enterprises, and village enterprises are operating.

Suwon City announced that from the 30th of this month to the 9th of next month, it will operate the "2022 2nd Suwon City Social Economy Open Market SSEOM" at the square in front of the NC Department Store Suwon Terminal branch in Gwonseon-gu.

Organized by the Suwon Urban Foundation Social Economy Support Center, this event was prepared to promote competitive products of local social economy enterprises and support expanding sales channels by encouraging product purchases.

More than 80 products produced by 18 social economy enterprises in the Suwon area, including Korea Farmers Cooperative and Kkumteul Cooperative, such as leather handicrafts, soap, wall clocks, coffee and snacks, and official Suwon City character "Suwoni" products, will be available.

The event will be open from 10:30 AM to 7:30 PM.

A city official said, "We thank the NC Suwon Terminal branch staff for providing the venue free of charge to realize social values in coexistence with local residents," adding, "We hope this event supporting social economy enterprises through win-win cooperation with large stores will revitalize the local economy."

The 3rd Social Economy Open Market SSEOM event is scheduled to be held at Avenue France Gwanggyo branch in Yeongtong-gu in November. The 1st event was held from August 25 to September 7 at the 2nd-floor waiting room of Suwon Station.
