Fusion Gugak and Street Arts Presented at Cheongwadae Throughout October


[Asia Economy Reporter Seomideum] The Cultural Heritage Administration's Blue House Public Opening Promotion Team, together with the Korea Cultural Heritage Foundation, will present various special performance programs such as fusion gugak and street arts throughout the Blue House area during the month of October.


Every Saturday, fusion gugak performances blending traditional Korean music and Western music will be held twice a day at the helipad. ▲On October 1, 'Jungang Gayastra' will perform the gayageum and vocal ensemble 'Singing Gayageum' ▲On the 8th, 'Kim Yeji + Byun Hyekyung' will present 'Haegum & Percussion,' interpreting the unique sounds of traditional Korean instruments with a modern sensibility ▲On the 15th, the gugak ensemble 'Piona' will hold the 'Lawn Outdoor Concert' ▲On the 22nd, 'Music Collective Gomul' will perform the fusion gugak show 'Rediscovery of Gugak' ▲On the 29th, 'Second Moon' will present the 'Paldo Yuram' performance. Each performance will be held at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. for 40 minutes.


Every Sunday and on public holidays, street art performances will take place twice a day at various locations throughout the Blue House, including Daejeongwon, Nokjiwon, and the Yeongbingwan courtyard. ▲On October 2, 3, and 10, the 'Bubble Car Parade,' shooting colorful soap bubbles (from the main gate to Nokjiwon to the helipad) ▲On the 9th, 'Croquiky Brothers' will present the 'Drawing Circus,' where the audience can enjoy the drawing process together (Yeongbingwan courtyard) ▲On the 16th, 'Goonis Company' will perform a rap and b-boying show titled 'Concert of Youth' (in front of Yeongbingwan) ▲On the 23rd, 'Theater Company Bom' will stage the street puppet show 'Blue House Family Outing' (from the main gate to Daejeongwon) ▲On the 30th, the circus creative group 'Bong & Jul' will perform 'One-legged Life' (Yeongbingwan courtyard). Each performance will be held at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. for 30 minutes.

Since its opening on May 10, the Blue House has welcomed a cumulative total of 1,954,438 visitors (as of September 28). Recently, the number of visitors averages about 20,000 on weekends and about 10,000 on weekdays.
