Busan City to Host This Year's 'Busan Landscape and Garden Expo' ... Celebrating 50 Years of Korean Landscape Architecture

Held from 10.20 to 23 at Dasom Square, Busan Citizens Park

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] Busan City will hold the "2022 Busan Landscape and Garden Expo" for four days from October 20 to 23 at Dasom Square in Busan Citizens Park.

Now in its 8th year, the Busan Landscape and Garden Expo is hosted by the city and organized by the Busan Landscape Association.

This expo will be set up as a festival where participating companies and visitors can interact through various contents to revitalize the garden landscaping business.

Various exhibits such as garden works (15 locations), flower paths, and photo zones will be showcased through the "Exhibition Zones (Theme, Garden, Industry)." At the same time, excellent companies in the garden landscaping field will introduce new trends in landscaping to citizens and provide opportunities for consultation and purchase of related products.

Various events involving citizens and landscaping professionals will also be held, including a seminar commemorating the 50th anniversary of Korean landscaping, a graduation exhibition of landscaping departments, a Palm Garden Contest, and cup garden making.

Among these, the Palm Garden Contest will be divided into three categories: student, general, and gardener divisions. Participants’ submitted palm gardens will be judged by category, with the grand prize awarded the Busan Mayor’s Award and the excellence prize awarded the Busan Landscape Association President’s Award.

The 2022 Busan Landscape and Garden Expo will be free to attend. A free tea tree giveaway event will also be held daily for the first 1,000 visitors to the venue.

Lee Geun-hee, Director of the Environmental Policy Office of the city, said, "This expo is not only being held for the first time in two years due to COVID-19 but is also a commemorative event marking the 50th anniversary of Korean landscaping. The city and the Busan Landscape Association will do their best to ensure the successful hosting of this expo. We ask for the citizens’ great interest and attendance."

The opening ceremony marking the start of the 2022 Busan Landscape and Garden Expo will be held at 11 a.m. on October 20 at Dasom Square in Busan Citizens Park, attended by landscaping officials and visitors.
