[Asia Economy Reporter Naju-seok] The Democratic Party of Korea has filed a complaint with the police against Minister of Justice Han Dong-hoon for spreading false information. It is alleged that Minister Han defamed others by disseminating false information during his full testimony at the Constitutional Court's jurisdictional dispute trial.
On the 28th, Oh Young-hwan, the party's floor spokesperson, and Jeon Yong-gi, chief of staff to the floor leader, held a press conference at the National Assembly and stated, "Park Hong-geun, the Democratic Party floor leader, is submitting a complaint against Minister Han for defamation by spreading false information."

Spokesperson Oh explained, "Minister Han claimed that Floor Leader Park insisted on the separation of prosecution investigation rights and declared that he would definitely protect former President Moon Jae-in and Lee Jae-myung, the Democratic Party's senior adviser (current party leader), stating this as a legislative declaration," adding, "(This) constitutes a clear case of spreading false information." He further described Minister Han's remarks as "extremely malicious and reckless, going beyond mere suspicion to malicious statements, considering the overall circumstances."
Oh also stated, "Despite being the Minister of Justice, who should be the most neutral, Minister Han clearly spread false information to provoke political conflict as a representative of a specific faction and affiliated institution."
Meanwhile, regarding the Democratic Party's complaint, Minister Han responded, "It seems to be dissatisfaction with a public argument made in the open courtroom, but since the trial lasted five hours, instead of making such remarks outside the courtroom afterward, if there is something to say, it would have been better to say it confidently in the courtroom," adding, "I believe there is no need to say more since the truth was spoken, and the public, the media, and the Constitutional Court justices all witnessed it."
