Gyeongnam Changnyeong-gun is conducting inspection activities targeting safety-vulnerable areas and facilities.
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Wook] Changnyeong-gun, Gyeongnam, has completed safety inspections for 66% of safety-vulnerable areas and facilities.
As of the 27th, Changnyeong-gun completed inspections on 56 out of 84 sites targeted for intensive safety inspections under the Safety Transformation initiative, including landslide-prone areas and family welfare facilities, achieving an inspection rate of 66%.
On the 21st, facilities at three sewage treatment plants (Changnyeong, Namji, Bugok) that process contaminated domestic sewage and factory wastewater were inspected to ensure that polluted water is not discharged untreated.
During safety inspections, minor issues were corrected on-site under the guidance of private experts, and facilities requiring repairs or reinforcement will undergo detailed inspections and prompt follow-up measures such as securing budgets.
A county official stated, “We will do our best to ensure a safe Changnyeong with a goal of 100% inspection rate during the intensive safety inspection period running until October 14. Facilities that have not yet been inspected will have their schedules coordinated with private experts soon to begin inspections.”
