[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] The proportion of repeat test-takers, including graduates, exceeded 20% in the September mock exam.

On the 28th, the Korea Institute for Curriculum and Evaluation announced that it will notify test-takers of the scoring results of the '2023 College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT) September Mock Exam' held on the 31st of last month on the 29th. A total of 387,340 students took the mock exam, of which 308,812 (79.7%) were current students and 78,528 (20.3%) were graduates and repeat test-takers.

Although the total number of test-takers decreased by 14,365 compared to the September mock exam last year, the number of graduates increased by 1,517. Even considering that there were many false test-takers last year who took the mock exam to benefit from COVID-19 vaccination incentives, the number of repeat test-takers this year has significantly increased. This is higher than the 16% proportion of repeat test-takers in the 2021 academic year, and there are forecasts that the proportion of repeat test-takers in the actual CSAT will exceed 30%.
