Newbility, Second Phase Demonstration of Urban Robot Delivery Service

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] Newbility, an autonomous delivery robot platform led by CEO Lee Sang-min, announced that starting from the 28th, it will conduct the second phase of stable robot delivery service demonstration centered around the Bangbae-dong area in Seoul in collaboration with Seven Eleven. This project is part of the "Demand-tailored Service Robot Development and Distribution Project" led by the Korea Institute for Robot Industry Advancement under the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy.

This demonstration aims to operate an "advanced delivery service model utilizing multiple robots across multiple stores." Three Seven Eleven stores located in Bangbae-dong, Seoul, were selected to conduct a pilot short-distance delivery service using the delivery robot "Newbee." The service target area covers the entire Bangbae 1-dong with an operating radius of 800 meters. The demonstration period will last for three months until December, during which delivery fees will be free.

Newbility developed the delivery robot "Newbee" by internalizing core autonomous driving technologies to enable precise location tracking, obstacle recognition, and avoidance. It is explained that the robot can perform stable autonomous delivery missions even in complex urban environments and weather conditions such as rain or snow.

Lee Sang-min, CEO of Newbility, said, "Ahead of the commercialization of services within commercial facilities such as golf courses this year, we have expanded the demonstration project targeting multiple convenience store locations in collaboration with Seven Eleven." He added, "We will focus on advancing the service to innovate the last-mile delivery market and do our best to provide a highly reliable autonomous delivery demonstration service."
