BBQ Chicken Announces '6 Major Win-Win Policy Measures' to Strengthen Franchisee Cooperation and ESG Management BBQ logo.

[Asia Economy Reporter Jeon Jin-young] Chicken franchise Genesis BBQ Group announced on the 28th six major win-win policy measures to promote coexistence and inclusion with franchisees and strengthen ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management activities.

The win-win policy measures reflect BBQ's management philosophy of "The headquarters thrives only when the franchisees thrive," and express the will to focus on becoming a global company and ESG management activities.

Since early last year, BBQ formed an internal task force (TF) consisting of strategic planning, operations headquarters, sales headquarters, and legal office, and after about two years of preparation including legal review based on advice and consulting from external corporate experts, it prepared these win-win policy measures.

The main contents of the six major win-win policies are ▲establishing win-win and inclusive policies for disputes with franchisees ▲comprehensive revision of franchise agreements ▲establishment of a long-term franchisee nurturing system ▲promotion of employment and start-up support projects for various social classes ▲expansion of support for food service franchise startups ▲strengthening social contribution projects together with franchisees.

The win-win and inclusive policy for disputes includes the withdrawal of all ongoing lawsuits against franchisees. BBQ plans to minimize legal procedures with parties involved in disputes in the future as well. The franchise agreement will also be comprehensively revised by as early as October to strengthen franchisee rights. To this end, an active opinion-gathering process targeting the family and consultations with external legal experts were conducted. In addition, support for children's scholarships, support for prospective franchise startups, and expansion of donations will also be undertaken.

A BBQ official said, "The six major win-win policies prepared this time embody the will to contribute to the national economy and the development of the franchise industry through co-growth with franchisees amid difficult economic conditions," adding, "Through the implementation process of these win-win policies, we will fulfill our responsibility as a pioneering company that has laid the foundation for the domestic franchise industry and strive to establish ourselves as a model case of co-growth and coexistence with our family."
