[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Byung-don] A woman in her 70s was found dead in a goshiwon in Seoul, prompting the police to launch an investigation.

The Gwanak Police Station in Seoul announced on the 27th at around 12:50 PM that Ms. A (74) was found dead in a room on the 4th floor of a goshiwon located in Sillim-dong, Gwanak-gu, Seoul, and an investigation is underway.

Ms. A, the owner of the goshiwon building, was living with her family, and at the time of discovery, her neck was strangled and her hands were tied.

The police reportedly responded to the scene after a friend who found Ms. A at the goshiwon reported the situation and confirmed her condition.

Based on the family's statement that there were no unusual circumstances until that morning, the police are focusing on the possibility of homicide in their investigation.
