COSRX Achieves Record-Breaking Sales at 'Qoo10 Japan Mega Sale Event'

COSRX, a low-irritant skincare brand for sensitive skin, announced on the 27th that it achieved its highest-ever sales during the ‘Mega Wari’ (Mega Discount) event held on Qoo10 Japan from August 23 to September 4.


The Mega Wari event is the largest online event held quarterly by Qoo10 Japan, one of the four major open markets in Japan.


During this event, COSRX recorded a remarkable 380% sales growth compared to the same period last year, ranking 5th overall in the comprehensive category ranking and 4th in the beauty ranking (based on cumulative sales volume), marking its best performance to date.


In particular, COSRX’s derma skincare line ‘The RX’ product, ‘The Vitamin C 23 Serum,’ surpassed 100,000 units in cumulative sales and ranked 4th in Qoo10 Japan’s beauty ranking during the Mega Wari period.


‘The Vitamin C 23 Serum,’ which received high attention from Japanese consumers during the event, was developed based on consumer needs identified through in-depth analysis by COSRX’s big data analysts of approximately 4 million global customer reviews from 134 online malls across 34 countries and 60 languages worldwide. It is a high-potency derma serum focused on effective ingredients.


COSRX recognized that while global consumers expect positive improvements from vitamin C, many discontinue use due to the ingredient’s characteristic irritation. To address this, COSRX launched a high-efficacy whitening and wrinkle-improving functional serum that minimizes irritation by optimally blending carefully selected synergistic ingredients. Additionally, it underwent sensitive skin irritation testing to ensure safety for sensitive skin.


A COSRX representative stated, “In the Japanese market, where pure vitamin products are perceived as expensive, customers who actually used ‘The Vitamin C 23 Serum’ have shared verified reviews praising its ‘reasonable price, excellent product quality, and low irritation,’ which started gaining attention on social media. It reached 1st place in Qoo10 Japan’s real-time beauty ranking and accumulated over 17,000 reviews, reflecting high interest.”
