Changnyeong-gun, Torn Taegeukgi and Village Maps Neglected for Years... 'Poor Management'

Sharp Criticisms from First-Term Council Members at Changnyeong County Council Administrative Audit Session

Changnyeong-gun, Torn Taegeukgi and Village Maps Neglected for Years... 'Poor Management' The Taegeukgi flag (left) hung in the wrong order of display at a village hall in Changnyeong-gun, Gyeongnam, and a torn village guide map left unattended.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Wook] The eyes and criticisms of the first-term council members of Changnyeong County Council were sharp. On the 26th, the 297th Changnyeong County Council 1st Regular Meeting Administrative Affairs Audit Special Committee was held in the main conference hall.

During the 'Administrative Affairs Audit,' the highlight of the council's legislative activities, Councilor Lee Seung-yeol displayed two photos on the monitor screen and sharply criticized the county officials.

Councilor Lee pointed out, "The Taegeukgi, Saemaeul flag, and county flag hanging on the flagpoles at the village hall of a certain eup/myeon are old and torn," adding, "Especially, the position of the Taegeukgi is also different." The Taegeukgi shown in the photos taken and revealed by Councilor Lee was in a deplorable state, and although the Taegeukgi should be hoisted in the center, it was hung on the far left.

Also, the 'Songi Village Guide Map' at the entrance of Gugye Village in Yeongsan-myeon looked at first glance like a world map had been posted. Originally, the guide board was intended to promote the 'Songi' produced in Gugye Village, but it was left torn and unattended.

Chairman Kim Jae-han severely reprimanded the related officials, saying, "What on earth have the officials been doing?" and "Do they never visit the village halls? If they have, what exactly have they been looking at?"

Councilor Noh Young-do, while questioning population increase policies and regional economic revitalization, said, "There are 106 county officials residing outside the county, and support measures such as personnel benefits are needed so that they can first set an exemplary example by moving into the county."
