[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] A fire broke out at Hyundai Premium Outlet located in Yongsan-dong, Yuseong-gu, Daejeon.
According to the fire authorities on the 26th, the fire started around 7:45 a.m. in the underground parking lot of the Hyundai Outlet building, and firefighting operations are currently underway.
After receiving the report, the fire authorities issued a Level 2 response and deployed about 120 personnel including firefighters and around 40 firefighting vehicles to extinguish the fire.
Level 2 response allows mobilization of personnel and equipment from fire stations adjacent to the area where the fire occurred.
Due to the fire, about 110 people including guests staying in the lodging building and workers evacuated the scene. However, it was confirmed that there were no external customers as the fire occurred before the outlet opened.
So far, no casualties have been confirmed, and the fire authorities are conducting rescue operations, understanding that one person was working in the disaster prevention room on the first basement floor.
Meanwhile, the Daejeon city government sent disaster safety alert messages to inform the public of the fire and urged people to refrain from visiting Hyundai Outlet and nearby residents to be cautious of safety accidents.
