[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Jong-hwa] Haimedi, a company attracting foreign patients, has officially opened an office in Kazakhstan. This is Haimedi's second overseas local office following Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.

The Kazakhstan office is located in Almaty, the largest city in Kazakhstan, providing patients with high accessibility and convenience. One local doctor and two professional coordinators are stationed there to offer patient consultations, recommend and book the most suitable Korean hospitals according to each symptom, and support one-stop medical services including telemedicine.

In addition, through the local office, Haimedi plans to actively attract foreign patients by securing potential customers, expanding partnerships with local doctors, and performing offline promotional activities to raise awareness of Korean medical services.

According to the Korea Health Industry Development Institute, Kazakhstan accounted for the highest proportion of Central Asian patients visiting Korea in 2021, with 57.2% (3,484 people). Before the COVID-19 pandemic in 2019, more than 13,000 patients from Kazakhstan visited Korea for treatment.

In this way, Haimedi has enabled Kazakhstani patients, who found it difficult to visit Korea due to COVID-19, to have telemedicine consultations with Korean medical staff through the local office. For patients deemed to require treatment in Korea, Haimedi provides customized concierge services throughout the entire medical tourism process, including △ selection of medical institutions and treatment planning △ visa △ transportation △ accommodation △ interpretation support △ return and follow-up care, helping patients focus solely on their treatment.

On the 17th (local time), Haimedi opened the Kazakhstan office and began actively attracting local patients. On the 20th and 21st, a free medical clinic was held, where specialists from Korea University Anam Hospital, Seoul National University Bundang Hospital, and Ewha Mokdong Hospital, all affiliated with Haimedi, directly examined local patients.

Seo Don-gyo, co-CEO of Haimedi, said, "Haimedi's local office serves as a bridge connecting foreign patients who find it difficult to visit Korea due to COVID-19 with Korean medical staff who can provide optimal treatment." He added, "Following Mongolia, we expect the opening of the Kazakhstan office to contribute to attracting foreign patients, and we plan to gradually expand the scope of local offices to build a stronger global medical network."
