[Asia Economy Reporter Jeon Jinyoung] Civil and military sectors are joining forces to conduct various campaigns to boost the morale of the Republic of Korea Armed Forces personnel.
GS Retail and the Ministry of National Defense signed a business agreement on the 26th to jointly promote the ‘Love for the Nation Campaign’ in celebration of the 74th Armed Forces Day and to honor the numerous soldiers dedicated to defending the homeland. The signing ceremony took place from 10 a.m. at the Ministry of National Defense exhibition hall located in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, with key representatives from both sides attending, including GS Retail CEO Heo Yeonsu and Minister of National Defense Lee Jongseop.
Through this agreement, both parties agreed to cooperate on key initiatives including ▲conducting the Love for the Nation Campaign on Armed Forces Day ▲developing campaign-related products and donating proceeds ▲providing support such as humanities lectures and cultural concerts for military personnel ▲participating in employment and entrepreneurship education and briefings for soldiers scheduled for discharge ▲developing and promoting campaign-related content through available online and offline channels of both parties.
GS Retail expects this agreement to attract significant public interest and participation in the military support campaign and contribute to boosting the morale of the soldiers.
Meanwhile, as part of this business agreement, GS Retail will conduct the ‘1001 Taegeukgi Flag Hanging Campaign.’ GS25 will hold a stamp event on the ‘My Own Refrigerator’ application (app) until the 10th of next month, where customers who purchase any of four types of lunchboxes with Taegeukgi flag campaign stickers will receive goods.
Heo Yeonsu, CEO of GS Retail, stated, “We are very proud to collaborate with the Ministry of National Defense in activities that support and encourage the Army, Navy, and Air Force personnel fulfilling their national defense duties. We will mobilize all online and offline channels operated by GS Retail to widely promote the campaign with the Ministry of National Defense and continue to convey gratitude and encouragement to the armed forces through various mutual cooperation efforts.”
Minister of National Defense Lee Jongseop said, “We will strive to create a military environment where soldiers are satisfied with their service and contribute to national security through active communication with the public. The activities under this business agreement will help foster a public atmosphere that encourages and supports soldiers and serve as a foundation for instilling pride in military service among the troops.”
