Over 400 SME CEOs Gather in Jeju for the '2022 Leaders Forum'


[Asia Economy Reporter Donghyun Choi] From the 27th to the 30th, a 3-night, 4-day '2022 Small and Medium Business Leaders Forum' will be held at Lotte Hotel Jeju, with over 400 representatives from small and medium enterprises across various industries and regions nationwide participating.


The theme of this Leaders Forum is "60 Years of Progress, 100 Years of Hope," marking the 60th anniversary of the Korea Federation of SMEs and symbolizing the design of a new 100 years for small and medium enterprises to advance.


The forum will feature a variety of lectures, including ▲a special lecture by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance Choo Kyung-ho ▲a lecture by Minister Lee Young of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups ▲a lecture titled "From Follower to Leader" by Professor Lee Jung-dong of Seoul National University ▲a lecture on "Wisdom for Living Together" by Buddhist monk Beopryun ▲a lecture on "Opportunities for SME Success in the Metaverse (Extended Virtual World)" by Professor Kim Sang-gyun of Kyung Hee University ▲actor Kim Soo-mi ▲poet Shin Dal-ja ▲and Professor Oh Han-jin of Eulji University Hospital, among other influential opinion leaders.


In addition, as part of the social contribution program, donation activities for the underprivileged in the Jeju area and the purchase of local specialties will be carried out to help revitalize the local economy.


Kim Ki-moon, Chairman of the Korea Federation of SMEs, said, "Since its inception in 2007, the Leaders Forum has grown into the nation's premier 'prestige forum' by proposing solutions to contemporary issues such as regulatory reform and economic democratization and sharing knowledge among opinion leaders. Especially this year, marking the 60th anniversary of the Federation, the forum is organized to appreciate the efforts of small and medium businesspeople who contributed to the development of the Korean economy and to design a new future. I hope the attending SME CEOs will find rest and insight amidst the beautiful autumn of Jeju Island."
