Italian General Election, Far-Right FdI Likely 1st Party with 22-26% Vote Share Forecast [2nd Report]

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Byung-hee] In the Italian general election held on the 25th (local time), the far-right party Fratelli d'Italia (FdI) is expected to take first place.


According to the local daily La Stampa, exit polls predicted FdI's vote share to be between 22% and 26%. The Democratic Party (PD) and the Five Star Movement are expected to follow with vote shares of 17% to 21% and 13.5% to 17.5%, respectively.


The League (Lega), expected to form a right-wing coalition with FdI, is predicted to receive 8.5% to 12.5% of the vote, while Forza Italia (FI) is expected to get 6.5% to 8.5%.
