[Asia Economy Reporter Geum Bo-ryeong] On the 25th, regarding North Korea's launch of a short-range ballistic missile into the East Sea, both ruling and opposition parties pointed fingers at each other's previous and current administrations' diplomatic policies as the cause.

Park Jeong-ha, chief spokesperson of the People Power Party, stated in a commentary that "the repeated missile provocations by North Korea have been revealed to be caused by the 'diplomatic disaster' of the Moon Jae-in administration, as recently disclosed in a personal letter from Chairman Kim Jong-un."

Park added, "After the September 19, 2018 Pyongyang Joint Declaration, Chairman Kim sent a letter to U.S. President Trump expressing that 'excessive attention from President Moon Jae-in is unnecessary,' indicating a desire to discuss denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula excluding former President Moon. Even when the Moon administration was running around trying to ease sanctions on North Korea, claiming to be the 'chief spokesperson for North Korea,' North Korea insisted on 'Moon Jae-in passing,'" emphasizing the point.

Park also pointed out, "The recent legalization of North Korea's nuclear force policy is clearly the result of the failed North Korea policy of the Moon Jae-in administration," and criticized, "The Moon administration's North Korea policy, which created a Korean Peninsula where the nuclear threat persists, is not just a 'diplomatic disaster' but a 'diplomatic mockery.'"

On the other hand, Lim Oh-kyung, spokesperson for the Democratic Party of Korea, criticized the Yoon Seok-yeol administration in a briefing, saying, "Since the government took office, this is already the fifth military demonstration," and "However, the Yoon administration's North Korea policy is full of slogans but shows no progress."

She added, "While maintaining a perfect military readiness posture, I urge the government to find the best measures for peace on the Korean Peninsula and easing tensions between the South and the North."
