[Jeju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Jeongpil] The Jeju Special Self-Governing Province Fire Safety Headquarters announced on the 25th that it held a send-off ceremony to encourage the team representing Jeju at the 35th National Firefighting Skills Competition and to strengthen their determination to win on the 23rd.
This year, a total of 25 athletes representing Jeju will participate in seven events including fire, rescue, first aid, best firefighter, fire investigation, and firefighting drones, while the volunteer fire brigade will fiercely compete with 11 members in three events including fire hose dragging.
Kim Seyul, the team representative and fire lieutenant, expressed his ambition, saying, “During the competition, I will do my best to demonstrate the skills I have honed in the best condition and actively strive to promote the prestige of Jeju Firefighting nationwide.”
Park Geuno, head of the Fire Safety Headquarters, said, “I would like to thank the members who have worked hard in training despite the hot summer this year.” He added, “Above all, please pay special attention to ensure that the competition is completed safely without any accidents or injuries and that everyone returns safely.”
Meanwhile, the 35th National Firefighting Skills Competition will be held from the 27th to the 29th at the Central Fire Academy, where teams representing fire departments from 19 cities and provinces nationwide will participate in technical competitions to strengthen field response capabilities in each category.
