This Year's 'Pohang International Fireworks Festival' Canceled... "Recovery from Typhoon Damage Takes Priority"

[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] Pohang City in Gyeongbuk has confirmed the cancellation of the 'Pohang International Fireworks Festival,' which had been postponed due to typhoon damage.

On the 25th, Pohang City announced that it had finalized the cancellation of the Pohang International Fireworks Festival, which had been tentatively postponed on the 13th.

Due to severe damage caused by Typhoon Hinnamnor, the public, private, and military sectors are working together to fully focus on disaster recovery, and this decision was made to prioritize the swift restoration of citizens' daily lives.

A Pohang city official explained, "Although we reviewed various aspects regarding regional economic recovery and tourism revitalization, we decided to cancel this year's festival because we judged that recovering from typhoon damage and the early normalization of local steel companies are the top priorities."

This year's festival was originally scheduled to be held from September 23 to 25. Next year's festival is planned to be held for three days at the end of May in the first half of the year.
