Eunpyeong-gu Installs Advanced Digital Outdoor LED Screens with Real-Time Remote Management & Full Operation Starting October, Offering Diverse Attractions Including Media Art and District Information
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Eunpyeong-gu (Mayor Kim Mi-kyung) announced that it has installed a customized outdoor digital billboard with smart technology called 'Digital Signage' at Sinsa Bridge on Bulgwangcheon Stream.
Digital Signage is an outdoor digital billboard using advanced digital technology that allows remote management of broadcast information via a network.
As part of the Bulgwangcheon Broadcasting Culture Street development project, the district installed signage capable of broadcasting media art and district administration information on a digital LED screen. The Broadcasting Culture Street is a project to create a street blending culture, arts, and media along approximately 3 km from Sinsa Bridge to Jeungsan Bridge on Bulgwangcheon Stream.
The signage installed on the railing of Sinsa Bridge measures 2 meters in width, 30 meters in length, with an LED screen area of 60 m². It offers excellent visibility outdoors, is resistant to temperature and humidity, and uses smart technology to broadcast high-definition media in real time. It is connected remotely to the control center, making management easy.
It is scheduled to operate starting in October, displaying various information in real time. The content includes media art such as artistic photos and videos, disaster alerts, various events and lifestyle information, and district promotion. It provides diverse attractions and information to visitors to Bulgwangcheon.
Since 2018, the district has been promoting various projects to transform Bulgwangcheon into a cultural and artistic street as part of the Broadcasting Culture Street development project. These efforts include the construction of the Bulgwangcheon Media Center, maintenance of the Bulgwangcheon walking trail, creation of the Starlight Street, expansion of the floating stage, installation of green terrace-style seating, and public art works.
Kim Mi-kyung, Mayor of Eunpyeong-gu, said, “Using digital signage will effectively and promptly communicate district promotion and disaster information, and also help expand residents’ opportunities to enjoy cultural and artistic media art screenings. We hope it will become a landmark of the Bulgwangcheon Broadcasting Culture Street.”
