[Asia Economy Reporter Jeong Hyunjin] Wang Yi, Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister, warned on the 24th (local time) at the United Nations (UN) General Assembly that external forces intervening in the Taiwan issue would face "the most resolute response."

According to Politico and others, Wang emphasized China's existing position that Taiwan is Chinese territory during his speech at the UN General Assembly in New York. He stated, "Only when China is fully unified will there be true peace in the Taiwan Strait," adding, "China will resolutely fight against separatist forces within Taiwan, and will take the most resolute response against external interference."

Wang also threatened, "Those who attempt to interfere in China's internal affairs will face strong opposition from the Chinese people, and those opposing China's unification will be caught in the wheels of history."

Regarding the Ukraine situation, Wang said a diplomatic solution is necessary. He urged that Russia and Ukraine urgently engage in ceasefire negotiations, emphasizing, "We must prevent the crisis of the Ukraine situation from spreading to other regions." On the North Korean nuclear issue, he reiterated the existing position that all related parties should resolve it through dialogue.
